Born in Oklahoma City, Micheal Reilly was uprooted several times during his childhood living in Denver, Cincinnati, and finally ending up in Kentucky at the start of his teenage years. He received his first camera at age six and was heavily influenced by his father who was an avid photographer.
Micheal attended the University of Louisville with studies in Commercial Art. At the age of 24, he started a Commercial Photography Studio which experienced rapid growth. Micheal has traveled the world creating advertising images for his Fortune 100 clients.
In the late 1980’s and early 1990’s, Micheal was one of the pioneers introducing digital imaging into the Commercial Photography industry. He was featured several times in the industry trade magazine, Photo District News, and was a frequent featured speaker at the International Photo Symposium in New York City.
Now a longtime resident of Louisville and retired from 20 years in the commercial world, Micheal focuses his passion on fine art with a fusion of photography, digital art, and vivid colors. He describes his work as “Abstract Organics” using the unique shapes of nature as his inspiration. All of his images are printed on 16 gauge Aluminum using a dye sublimation process which perfectly mimics his vivid colors, and is 300+ years archival.
